Wizkid postpones 5th album release date in solidarity with Davido

Wizkid has shown psychological support to his fellow Nigerian artiste, Davido, who has just lost one of his children.

Earlier in the week, news broke out that Davido’s three years old son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, drowned in a pool in the singer’s residence in Banana Island, Lagos; a tragedy that left many fans and colleagues alike devastated.

While Wizkid had made a tweet promoting his album at a time when the news was still a rumour awaiting confirmation from the right sources, a certain Daniel Regha, called Wizkid out for being insensitive at a time a tragedy just befell one of his colleagues in the industry. According to the user, Wizkid had just reiterated the same mistake Reekado Banks made during the End Sars movement in 2020, a mistake Wizkid strongly condemned Reekado Banks for.

It appeared Wizkid was unaware of the rumour as he immediately took the promotional post he made for his album down that same morning. Today however, the singer has announced the reschedule of his fifth studio album titled More Love, Less Ego.

The album was originally scheduled for release on Friday, 4th November, 2022. However, in a bid to show solidarity with his colleague and longtime countryman, Wizkid has postponed the release of his much awaited album till 11th November, 2022.
