Why Skales called his wife “a devil”

The Nigerian Afrobeats singer and rapper recently released snippet to a song on which he calls his one year old marriage “marrying a devil”.

Some days ago, the singer’s wife, popularly known as Hasanati, published a post mourning her late husband’s mother who has just passed away. Skales had immediately replied to the post telling the woman to take it down.

In the response, Skales accused his wife of not showing care in real life. In his accusations, he claimed his wife lives just 10 minutes away from his mother’s residence and his mother would not have died if Hasanati had shown the same care she showed on social media in reality. “Don’t get me angry,” he added in his response to the Instagram post.

Days after the public call out, Skales who released an album titled Sweet Distractions in February, 2022, released a snippet to a rap song on which he addressed his wife as a devil. The singer further followed this up with another pain-pervaded publication where he advised people not to marry a “heartless person”.

A number of people have condemned the singer for publicly calling out his wife and releasing a song to address her. Others simply appraise the singer’s return to rap because of the nostalgia it activates in the listeners. According to a certain user, the song reminds him of 2011 Skales who was a colleague with Wizkid at EME. Very few number of people highlighted the pain that must have spurred the rap song.

Skales had done a traditional wedding with his woman in May, 2021, returning on 25th September of the same year to finalize the wedding. Barely a year after the marriage, the singer has accused the woman of being a “devil” and a fellow who lacks care.
