Rema has emerged the first artiste in the world to top the newly launched MENA chart.
MENA is an English acronym for the countries situated in and around the Middle East and North Africa. These countries include Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Lybia, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen.

The official music chart launched this week for all the countries in this MENA grouping has Rema at no. 1 as the first artiste in the world to top the new chart.

The singer’s original version of Calm Down sits at 1 on the same chart that has Sam Smith, Shakira and others. Addressing this enviable achievement this afternoon, Rema quoted the publication announcing his achievement; he wrote:
Y’all don’t know what this means to the culture. I’ll educate y’all a little.
