Wizkid told me not to be like him — Oxlade says on UK radio

Oxlade has revealed his past conversations with Wizkid, on a radio show in the United Kingdom.

Oxlade recently mentioned how Wizkid advised him not to imitate the latter in his pursuit of a career. This was disclosed in an interview session he granted on Kiss FM, the United Kingdom.

Oxlade emphasized on Wizkid’s sermon on uniqueness. The Starboy had lectured Oxlade on how being unique is one of the ingredients of being accepted in the industry. Basically, Oxlade stated that Wizkid does not want him to make mistakes.

While Oxlade talked about his performance with Wizkid at the 21 000 capacity Accor Arena in France about two weeks ago, he also reminded the listeners that Wizkid gave him his first ever chance to perform at the prestigious O2 Arena in 2018.

Oxlade claimed he and Wizkid are from the same place in Ojuelegba, Lagos. Stating that Wizkid is a big brother to him, Oxlade expressed love and respect for him and opined that Wizkid influences majority of the up and coming artistes rising in the Afrobeats industry.
