Many question 30BG’s submission of Davido’s Fem for Grammy

The organizers of the Grammy awards known as the Recording Academy disclosed that a new category has been added to the Grammys.

According to the Recording Academy, the additional category known as the Best Song for Social Change category “will recognize creators message-driven music that responds to the social issues of our time and has the potential for positive global impact”.

Following this announcement by the Grammys organizers, a huge number of Davido’s fans stormed the internet to submit the singer’s 2020 song titled FEM.

Critics who opposed this idea pointed out the fact that Fem was originally a diss track recorded and released by Davido in response to Burna Boy’s Way Too Big diss.

A small fragment of this lot also believe there are better songs which impacted social change in Nigeria during the year under review; many of them mentioned Falz’ This is Nigeria and Talk, Burna Boy’s Monsters You Made and 20 10 20, Ajebo Hustlers’ Barawo, Brymo’s Brain Gain and Ozymandias and Patoranking’s Heal D World.

The fans who outrightly submitted Davido’s Fem published clips showing where the song was used as an anthem by some of the End Sars protesters in 2020.
